What we are looking for:
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team delivering gutter cleaning and external property maintenance services across occupied and void homes. Working as part of a customer-focused team you will be responsible for ensuring guttering and rainwater systems are clean functional and maintained to a high standard helping to protect properties from water damage and improve the overall condition of homes.
This is a varied role that combines planned and reactive maintenance work including gutter and down pipe clearance routine inspections minor repairs and supporting wider roof line and drainage maintenance activities. You will work safely at height using appropriate access equipment and will be expected to identify and report defects complete accurate records and deliver excellent customer service to residents throughout every job.
Role Responsibilities:
- Clear gutters downpipes hoppers and drainage channels of leaves moss debris and blockages.
- Carry out routine inspections of guttering systems to identify defects damage or potential maintenance issues.
- Repair or replace minor guttering components brackets seals and downpipes where required.
- Ensure rainwater systems are functioning correctly and water is flowing freely from properties.
- Remove waste materials and dispose of debris safely in line with company procedures.
- Work safely at height using ladders access equipment and scaffolding in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Complete planned and reactive maintenance works across occupied and void properties.
- Identify and report defects such as damaged gutters roof tiles fascias soffits or drainage systems requiring further repairs.
- Accurately record completed works materials used and any follow-on actions required.
- Liaise professionally with residents and customers providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Ensure all work is completed to agreed quality standards and in compliance with health and safety requirements
- Support wider external maintenance activities including minor roofline fascia soffit and drainage repairs where required
Key Criteria:
- Experience carrying out gutter cleaning roofline maintenance or external property maintenance.
- Ability to work safely at height.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Provide own hand tools
- Full UK driving licence.

To drive a Mears vehicle you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
