Maintenance Plumber – Central London
Job Summary
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Plumber to join a facilities management team supporting a leading specialist hospital in Central London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified plumber with experience in healthcare commercial or critical environments carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a busy hospital estate.
- 35.00 per hour (PAYE)

- Monday to Friday
- 8:00am 5:00pm
- 40 hours per week
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on plumbing and mechanical systems throughout the hospital.
- Inspect service and repair plumbing installations including pipework valves pumps fittings and fixtures.
- Diagnose faults and carry out reactive maintenance to minimise downtime across critical hospital services.
- Install and replace plumbing components including water heaters filters washers gaskets and associated equipment.
- Monitor and maintain boiler plant and water systems.
- Undertake Legionella control duties including temperature monitoring flushing regimes and compliance checks.
- Read and interpret technical drawings schematics and maintenance documentation.
- Supervise and monitor specialist contractors working on site.
- Ensure all work complies with current legislation Health & Safety regulations and NHS Health Technical Memoranda (HTM/HBN).
- Complete maintenance records accurately and within agreed service levels.
- NVQ Level 3 City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Plumbing.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Plumber within healthcare commercial facilities management or critical environments.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems pumps valves water treatment equipment and mechanical services.
- Experience carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Sound understanding of Legionella control and water hygiene procedures.
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and statutory compliance.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Experience working within an NHS or hospital environment.
- Knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services.
- Experience undertaking small project works and installations.
- Multi-skilled maintenance experience across additional building trades.
- Experience carrying out risk assessments relating to water systems and infection control.
- 35.00 per hour PAYE
- Weekly pay.
- Monday to Friday working pattern.
