Maintenance Fitter

Principle Objective

As part of the Maintenance team the Maintenance Fitter will ensure that quality workmanship within the demanding business constraints of minimising downtime and maximising production is obtained from all equipment and machinery while working as part of a team.

Knowledge & Experience

Qualified time served Maintenance Fitter or candidates with relevant Mechanical experience in an industrial environment

Analytical capacity to identify and address technical issues/opportunities which can impact upon production and quality

Experience in troubleshooting installation fault finding and repairs

Computer literate

Hydraulics

Mechanic Systems

Pneumatics

Welding/Grinding

Cutting

Bearings belts chains pumps and gearboxes

To set a positive example in all areas of compliance and encourage a culture of ownership and personal responsibility

Use risk assessments and safe systems of work for execution of all works

To promote health and safety awareness of Balcas Employees and Contractors

Ensure compliance with all Balcas polices and guidelines and ensure compliance of appropriate risk assessments and working systems

Working at an expert level providing and developing preventative maintenance regimes covering hydraulic and mechanical equipment around the site

Repairing and rebuilding hydraulic equipment

Repairing and rebuilding pneumatic equipment

Engaging in welding/cutting/grinding as required

Repairing and building pumps

Repairing and building gear boxes

Chipper knife changes where necessary

Positively contributing to any team meetings arranged concerning issues relating to production and maintenance

Comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures including the wearing of all personal protective equipment issued

Follow Permit to Work Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work

Any other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time by your Manager

To foster good relations and promote a good team working culture with all areas of the business

Flexible with working hours and covering shifts

Communicate effectively with local management team site personnel and contractors

Ensure Company policies and procedures are adhered to

Meet all assigned goals and assist others in accomplishing their goals

Attendance/participation of arranged training to ensure skill levels are maintained/improved

Be courteous and polite to visitors and work colleagues

Always be aware of the other members of the Invergordon team and ensure that all actions are helpful to the general team effort

Work closely with other members of the maintenance team passing on knowledge/experience and gaining from the knowledge/experience of others

Week 1: Monday Tuesday Friday Saturday Sunday (Dayshift) 6.45am to 6.45pm

Week 2: Wednesday Thursday (Dayshift) 6.45am to 6.45pm

Week 3: Monday Tuesday Friday Saturday Sunday (Nightshift) 6.45am to 6.45pm

Week 4: Wednesday Thursday (Nightshift) 6.45am to 6.45pm
