Its press estate comprises more than 80 machines including Bruderer high-speed progression presses Bihler multi-slide machines Haulick & Roos blanking presses and Chin Fong and Worcester presses supported by wire forming spring coiling and weld assembly operations. Pre-Met holds IATF 16949 and EN 9100 certifications and supplies some of the most demanding customers in its markets.

The Opportunity
This is a hands-on self-directed maintenance role at the heart of the companys production operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping the press estate running by responding quickly to breakdowns delivering a structured Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme and maintaining the electrical mechanical and pneumatic systems that support production.
The role spans the entire site including the press shop maintenance workshop and site services and facilities. Much of the work will be carried out independently requiring the successful candidate to manage their own priorities with minimal supervision. Whether responding to machine breakdowns or completing scheduled maintenance the role is critical to maintaining production performance.
Requirements
What Youll Be Doing
Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on PLCs VSDs servo systems safety circuits three-phase distribution and machine control panels.
Carrying out mechanical and pneumatic maintenance across the press estate and ancillary equipment including clutches brakes feeders pneumatic circuits drives and associated systems.
Maintaining power presses across Bruderer Bihler Haulick & Roos Chin Fong and Worcester machines including guarding clutch/brake systems die protection and support for statutory inspections.
Delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance in accordance with a structured PPM schedule maintaining accurate CMMS records and identifying defects before they result in breakdowns.
Responding promptly to reactive breakdowns communicating effectively with production teams regarding downtime and identifying root causes as well as implementing repairs.
Maintaining site-wide facilities and services including electrical infrastructure compressed air systems emergency systems contractor coordination and maintenance stores.
Working closely with Production the Press Tool Room and Quality teams communicating effectively collaborating across departments and escalating issues where appropriate.
What Pre-Met Is Looking For
Essential
A recognised electrical engineering qualification such as City & Guilds 2360/2365 NVQ Level 3 HNC/HND or an equivalent apprenticeship-served engineering background.
Proven electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment including fault diagnosis on PLCs drives and control systems.
Strong mechanical and pneumatic maintenance skills to complement electrical expertise.
Experience maintaining power presses with a sound understanding of guarding standards clutch/brake systems and PUWER requirements. Experience with Bruderer Bihler Haulick & Roos Chin Fong or Worcester equipment would be particularly advantageous.
Experience working within a Planned Preventative Maintenance programme with strong organisational skills accurate record keeping and the ability to work independently.
The ability to work with minimal supervision while communicating clearly and effectively with production teams in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
Hydraulic maintenance experience.
Experience using CMMS or work order management systems.
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification.
Appointed Person Power Presses qualification (or working towards it).
