We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join a thriving school in Slough as soon as possible.

This is a school where staff genuinely value working together to support pupils. The Attendance Team plays an important role in promoting excellent attendance and punctuality. You will work closely with pupils parents teachers pastoral teams and senior leaders to monitor attendance identify concerns and provide appropriate support to improve attendance outcomes.

The role will involve:

  • Monitoring daily attendance and punctuality following up unexplained and persistent absences.

  • Maintaining accurate attendance records and ensuring information is recorded appropriately on school systems.

  • Contacting parents and carers regarding absence lateness and attendance concerns.

  • Identifying patterns of absence and escalating persistent or concerning cases appropriately.

  • Working closely with pastoral staff safeguarding teams and senior leaders to support pupils with attendance difficulties.

  • Supporting attendance improvement plans and maintaining accurate records of interventions.

  • Communicating professionally and sensitively with pupils parents carers and external agencies.

  • Contributing to attendance reports data analysis and meetings relating to pupil attendance.

  • Promoting the importance of regular attendance across the wider school community.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in school administration attendance pastoral support or a similar education-based role.

  • Is highly organised accurate and confident managing attendance data and records.

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Can build positive relationships with pupils parents carers and colleagues.

  • Is confident handling sensitive and confidential information.

  • Has a calm professional and persistent approach when following up attendance concerns.

  • Is confident using school information systems and Microsoft Office.

  • Can work independently while contributing effectively to a wider school team.

  • Has a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

  • Is committed to supporting pupils to improve their attendance engagement and educational outcomes.
