Logistics Team Leader

The purpose of this position will be to manage the collection delivery team and the fleet associated with the Feltham site. 

This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 08:30 till 16:30. 

• Ensuring highest standards of Health and Safety are maintained across the logistics team reporting and investigating all incidents and accidents within the safety portal.
• Ensure effective management of temperature control environments through the calibration of probes and profiling of vans.
• Manage and audit all aspects of logistics work and procedures to ensure consistent delivery across team.
• Co-operate with the investigation and resolution of customer issues relating to the business unit.
• Monitor all spend and review with Logistics management.
• Co-ordination of the logistics team absence ensuring continued effective delivery of required tasks.
• Manage co-ordination of sample collection routes to ensure efficient use of company resources delivering an efficient and effective service supporting both clients and laboratories.
• Liaison with third party chilled couriers to facilitate any additional requirements.
• Direct client liaison regarding collections providing updates when required.
• Internal communication with other Eurofins departments to facilitate logistics requirements.
• Out of hours cover for logistics team a shred approach in place.
• Processing and reporting of data as required for logistics team.
• Management of the Eurofins fleet at home site ensuring all vehicles are serviced and compliant.
• Ensure effect and efficient use of sample drop off locations.
• Daily management of the logistics team for the home site as well as covering absence for logistics management at other sites.
• Recruitment and induction of newly recruited drivers.
• Performance management of team.
• Monitoring of logistics team on road behaviour via digital platforms.
• Cover for the Logistics manager where required.

Qualifications :

• Full Driving Licence.
• Background in logistics particularly in transport planning and fleet management. 
• People and performance management skills. 
• Experience Transport planning and fleet management
• Good computer skills including experience with Microsoft packages. 
• Experience using Telematics systems and Traffic management systems. 
• Excellent communication and people skills. 
• Highly Organised with good attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
• Continuous improvement focused.
