Job Summary

Job Title: Logistics Coordinator We are currently recruiting for a Logistics Coordinator to join our busy Logistics department. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of inbound and outbound shipments. This includes ensuring timely delivery of goods maintaining shipment records coordinating with carriers and ensuring compliance with customs and regulatory is a full time permanent position working 38 hours per week Monday to Friday. Rate of pay for this role starts at 13.45 per the RoleKey ResponsibilitiesInbound ShipmentsCoordinate the receipt of goods from suppliers ensuring accurate scheduling and delivery timelinesMonitor shipments to ensure timely arrival and address any delays or discrepancies with carriers or suppliersVerify shipping documentation (e.g. bills of lading packing lists invoices) to ensure accuracy and complianceCommunicate with customs brokers and ensure smooth clearance of goods through customsTrack and report on inbound shipment statuses providing updates to relevant stakeholdersOutbound ShipmentsOrganise and schedule outgoing shipments to customers or distribution centres ensuring on-time deliveryPrepare and verify shipping documents (e.g. delivery notes export declarations and invoices)Select and liaise with freight carriers negotiating rates and ensuring service qualityMonitor and track outbound shipments resolving any delivery issuesCoordinate with warehouse teams to ensure orders are picked packed and shipped accuratelyAdministrative and Operational TasksMaintain accurate records of shipment activities including costs tracking data and delivery confirmationsEnsure all activities comply with company policies and legal/regulatory regular reports on shipment performance costs and potential improvementsSupport continuous improvement initiatives to optimize logistics operationsCollaborate with other departments (e.g. Procurement Customer Service and Warehousing) to ensure seamless operationsData AnalysisEnsure accurate data capture and encourage others to maintain the same levelRecord all shipments and assign these to the appropriate cost centreEvaluate supplier performance and conduct regular reviews; implement an improvement plan if a supplier is underperformingAnalyse department spend and collaborate with other teams to ensure the most effective and efficient decisions are being madeTeamworkActively contribute to team meetings and work towards achieving and identifying departmental objectivesCollaborate with other departments to share information problem solve and drive improvementsCommunicate clearly and effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in writing with other teams across the business to improve the level of service provided by the logistics department to both internal and external stakeholdersAbout youThis is what were looking for in our ideal candidate:EssentialHave experience working within a logistics or similar environment or be willing to learnHave strong interpersonal skills with internal and external bodiesBe computer literate and be confident using IT systems including Microsoft Office packagesCapable of working independently and adapting to changing priorities Able to meet deadlines consistentlyDesirableKnowledge of customs regulations and compliance requirementsWorking knowledge of logistics warehouse and/or delivery management softwareStrong working knowledge of MS ExcelNote: A UK driving license is essential as you may be driving between our two Elgin sites.
