14.5 hours per week - 2 days Monday & Friday
Term Time Only plus 3 Weeks

Outwood Academy Bydales is an 11-16 school located in the beautiful coastal village of Marske-by-the-Sea close to the North York Moors National Park and with spectacular views of the coastline. We are extremely proud of our tradition of serving the families of the community of Marske and surrounding areas. Our recent Ofsted Inspection recognised the many strengths of the school as we secured judgements of Good across all areas. About the role

At Outwood Academy Bydales we have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Manager to join our team. You will be required to support learning through the use of data strategic intervention and monitoring to maximise student attainment. As a Learning Manager you must have the ability to work with students and have a real interest in the issues faced by the students. You will monitor and support all students in the year group both academically and behaviourally. You will work closely with the Inclusion Co-coordinator and the Leadership Team on improving student behaviour attendance and outcomes. Day to day you will work with students to help them to be the best they can be.


The successful candidate must be extremely well organised have the ability to prioritise work and ensure that strict deadlines are met. The ability to work on your own initiative and be able to lead by example are essential. You will be required to deal with students parents and outside agencies in a professional prompt and confidential manner. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of Students First.

Responsibilities

The Learning Manager strategically monitors all students in their assigned year group utilizing MIS systems and Praising Stars data to identify concerns and action appropriate intervention strategies. Key duties include acting as the first point of contact for behaviour related incidents and supporting the Consequences process including contacting parents regarding exclusions and supporting readmission meetings.

A core function is inter-agency liaison including chairing Children in Need and Team Around the Child meetings undertaking referrals for families and supporting the Education Welfare Officer with truancy sweeps. They also coordinate year group logistics such as vaccinations and photographs and handle attendance checks.

Qualifications

The successful applicant must have experience of working in a school environment and demonstrable knowledge of issues affecting students and young people including how to offer supportive assistance.

Essential skills include the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences verbally and in writing and proficiency in using standard ICT packages including Microsoft Office. Crucially candidates must be able to work well under pressure manage competing deadlines relate sympathetically to students and recognise potential child safeguarding issues. Experience of working with other agencies that support vulnerable students is desirable.
