In 2023 we launched our Learning Hub in Kinning Park Glasgowan innovative post-school education programme designed for young people aged 18-21 with complex additional support needs. Now in its fourth year the Learning Hub has become a well-established and vital part of our services providing a welcoming and nurturing environment where young people can develop skills build confidence and work towards their long-term aspirations.

Sense Scotlands Learning Hub is an innovative post-school education service based in Kinning Park Glasgow. Designed for young people aged 18-21 with complex additional support needs this specialist and supportive environment enables learners to continue their education journey after leaving school. The Hub fosters growth learning and engagement empowering young people to develop skills and achieve their personal goals.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by supporting them in their education and personal development.

As a Learner Support Worker you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to meet the individual needs of learners. You will provide direct support with daily care needs communication and personal care ensuring learners can fully engage in their individual learning plans.

Provide high-quality support in line with learners individual Support Plans.
Assist with personal care mobility and medication administration.
Support learners in their education and social development.
Maintain accurate records and ensure effective communication with colleagues and families.
Promote a safe inclusive and supportive environment.
Participate in training and professional development.
Ensure appropriate use of petty cash and submit receipts as required.
Support learners in developing financial management skills.

At the Learning Hub our schedule is designed to support both learners and staff with a healthy work-life balance.

Hours of Work:

• Monday to Thursday: 9:00am 3:30pm

• Friday: 9:30am 3:30pm

Holiday Schedule:

Our holidays follow an academic-style calendar providing regular planned breaks throughout the year:

• 2 weeks in July

• 1 week in October

• 2 weeks over Christmas

• 1 week at Easter

We are looking for individuals who are sensitive to peoples needs and proactive in supporting people to lead active lives. You will have a good understanding of the need to support people to stay healthy and safe while being comfortable at managing risk accordingly.
