Lead Scientist LCMS

Our largest UK site in Harrogate North Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Lead Scientist to join the LCMS team.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Lead scientific activities supporting method development validation and sample analysis projects
  • Serve in key study leadership roles (e.g. Study Director Principal Investigator Responsible Scientist) for regulated and non-regulated studies.
  • Develop review and approve protocols validation plans reports and study data.
  • Provide scientific oversight to ensure compliance with GLP GCP regulatory and client requirements.
  • Act as the primary scientific contact for clients defining project requirements and managing scientific expectations.
  • Identify and resolve scientific challenges risks and scope changes throughout the study lifecycle.
  • Provide technical expertise and support assay troubleshooting and scientific investigations.
  • Lead mentor and develop scientific staff while fostering collaboration and a culture of quality.
  • Manage multiple complex projects ensuring delivery to quality timeline and client expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance scientific excellence and client satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Significant experience in bioanalytical method development validation and regulated study conduct within a Contract Research Organization (CRO) environment.
  • Previous experience as a Study Director (SD) Principal Investigator (PI) and/or Responsible Scientist (RS) is required for regulated bioanalytical studies.
  • Thorough understanding of GLP GCP and applicable global regulatory requirements governing bioanalytical studies.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex scientific data troubleshoot technical issues and make sound scientific and regulatory decisions.
  • Excellent client management communication and stakeholder engagement skills with experience building and maintaining successful customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership mentoring and project management experience including oversight of scientific staff and management of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining scientific quality regulatory compliance and exceptional attention to detail.

The Lead Scientist is responsible for the management of bioanalytical (LC-MS/MS) studies/phases of studies and to ensure that all work is conducted in accordance with the Study Plan SOPs and appropriate regulatory standards such as GLP & GCP and guidelines (EMA and FDA Bioanalytical Method Validation SANTE etc.). To run on a day to day basis and report studies of various types and complexity.
