About the Role

We are working with our client a well-established specialist contractor within the façades and building envelope sector who are seeking a Lead Glazing Designer to join their growing design team.

This is a hybrid role based from South East London offering flexibility alongside the opportunity to take ownership of key glazing and curtain walling design packages across a diverse range of commercial projects.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality coordinated and buildable design solutions working closely with project management commercial and site delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design development of glazing curtain walling windows and door packages
• Produce and review detailed design drawings and technical submissions
• Coordinate design outputs with internal teams consultants and external stakeholders
• Ensure all designs are compliant with project specifications building regulations and industry standards
• Support technical problem-solving and design development through project lifecycle
• Liaise closely with project managers and site teams to ensure design intent is achieved on site
• Contribute to value engineering and design optimisation initiatives
• Manage multiple design packages and deadlines simultaneously
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers where required

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in glazing curtain walling or façade design
• Strong technical knowledge of aluminium systems and façade construction methods
• Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g. AutoCAD or similar)
• Experience delivering coordinated design packages on commercial construction projects
• Strong understanding of buildability and site coordination requirements
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage workload across multiple live projects
• Ambition to progress into senior design or design management roles
