Lead Engineer Team Leader

This isnt just a role where youll manage a team from the sidelines. Youll be hands-on technically involved and influential in the solutions we create taking ideas from a blank sheet of paper through design development and into manufacture.

What will you be doing

Youll take responsibility for the design development BOMs technical support and production of a portfolio including:

• Distribution Systems
• Tray Sealer Tooling
• Bespoke Machinery
• Development Machinery

Youll also lead the Poole Product Design Team helping the team deliver high-quality engineering solutions on time and to specification.

Your role will include:

• Leading engineering design taking customer and business requirements and turning them into innovative manufacturable designs.
• Solving problems working through complex engineering challenges and using your technical expertise to find practical solutions.
• Driving design excellence using Design for Manufacture Value Engineering and ISO standards to ensure designs transition smoothly into production.
• Collaborating across the business working closely with Assembly Planning Purchasing Sales and other teams to deliver successful projects.
• Leading and developing people motivating your team developing individual capability and helping less experienced engineers grow their skills and confidence.
• Driving innovation keeping up with new technologies and industry developments and bringing new ideas into the business.
• Delivering results ensuring the team meets key measures around Right First Time On-Time Delivery and quality.
• Keeping ahead of the market understanding customer needs and competitor equipment so that Ishida remains at the forefront of engineering design.

What are we looking for

Were looking for someone who combines strong engineering expertise with genuine leadership capability.

Youll ideally have:

• An HNC or Degree in an engineering discipline
• Strong mechanical design experience
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
• Experience producing layout assembly and detailed engineering drawings to ISO standards
• Experience with pneumatic equipment and circuit design
• Experience of commissioning and working on-site
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• A good understanding of Health & Safety requirements
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills
• The ability to work independently while also bringing people together as a team
