Job Description: Laundry Assistant

Rota Pattern:

  • Week 1: Monday Tuesday Wednesday Saturday Sunday
  • Week 2: Thursday and Friday

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistant to support the smooth and efficient running of the laundry service at Favordale. The successful candidate will ensure a high standard of cleanliness hygiene and garment care for residents and staff while working both independently and as part of the wider domestic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect sort wash dry iron and neatly fold laundry items including clothing bedding and towels.
  • Operate laundry machinery (washers dryers irons) safely and efficiently.
  • Follow correct procedures for handling soiled or contaminated laundry.
  • Ensure laundry is returned to the correct residents promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the laundry room and equipment.
  • Monitor stock levels of detergents and laundry supplies and report shortages when needed.
  • Adhere to all infection control health and safety and organisational policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents staff and visitors.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable punctual and committed to high standards.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety and hygiene practices.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a laundry cleaning or housekeeping role.
  • Experience working in a care or healthcare environment.
