Kitchen Porter – Rū

Belfasts newest restaurant Ru is looking for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our opening kitchen team.

Born from two rich food cultures Ru blends bold Indian flavours with exceptional Irish produce. Our menu is a modern interpretation of Indian cooking vibrant seasonal and designed for sharing.

Located on Ann Street and open for lunch and dinner Ru will be the first to open amongst a number of adjoining venues including a pub cocktail bar and terrace vinyl listening bar and club space in 2026.

The role

As kitchen porter you will play a valuable role in the smooth running of the kitchen by ensuring high standards of cleanliness hygiene and organisation are maintained at all times.

What youll do:

• Maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen and other back-of-house spaces
• Wash dishes utensils cookware and kitchen equipment efficiently safely and to a high standard
• Assist with deliveries stock rotation and storage of food and kitchen supplies
• Support chefs with basic food preparation tasks as required
• Ensure full compliance with food safety hygiene and HACCP standards

About you:

• Previous experience in a kitchen porter or similar role is desirable
• A strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Good attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
• Reliable punctual and able to follow instructions
• A team player with good communication skills
