Mears are excited to announce an existing contract expansion with our long time client Cross Keys Homes.

We have worked with Cross Keys Homes for 18 years and have just signed off for a further 10 years.

Previously the Kitchen installations have been sub-contracted out and now we are bringing it all in house! If you want to work for a company that values longevity along with an experience workforce this might be for you!

As part of our Kitchen Installation team youll play a key role in transforming peoples homes delivering high-quality kitchen refurbishments that make a real difference to residents. From the removal of existing kitchens through to the installation of new modern spaces youll see the impact of your work firsthand. About the Role:

As a Kitchen Fitter you will be responsible for the installation of kitchens within customers homes ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with design specifications. Duties include measuring and preparing areas for installation fitting kitchen units worktops sinks taps appliances and associated fixtures and fittings. The role involves carrying out adjustments where required liaising with customers and colleagues maintaining a safe and tidy working environment and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and within agreed timescales.

You will be expected to deliver excellent workmanship and customer service while adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and company standards.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Install kitchen units cabinets worktops appliances sinks taps and associated fixtures in accordance with design specifications and company standards.

  • Measure and prepare installation areas ensuring accurate fitting and high-quality workmanship.

  • Remove existing kitchens and dispose of materials safely and responsibly where required.

  • Carry out adjustments and modifications to units worktops and fittings to achieve the best possible finish.

  • Complete basic carpentry and joinery works associated with kitchen installations.

  • Liaise with customers supervisors and other trades to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to specification.

  • Ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales while maintaining quality standards.

  • Identify and resolve installation issues escalating concerns where necessary.

  • Maintain a clean safe and organised work environment throughout the installation process.

  • Use tools equipment and materials safely and in accordance with health and safety requirements.

  • Conduct quality checks to ensure installations meet customer and company expectations.

  • Complete job documentation reports and any required paperwork accurately and on time.

  • Provide excellent customer service acting professionally and courteously at all times.

  • Comply with all company policies procedures and relevant health and safety legislation.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in relevant training and development activities.

Key Criteria:

  • Proven experience fitting domestic and/or commercial kitchens.

  • Ability to accurately read and interpret kitchen plans drawings and specifications.

  • Competent in the installation of kitchen units worktops appliances and associated fixtures and fittings.

  • Skilled in measuring marking out and carrying out modifications to ensure a high-quality finish.

  • Experience using a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Good understanding of joinery carpentry and cabinet installation techniques.

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices.

  • Ability to work independently and manage workload to meet deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.

  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to overcome installation challenges on-site.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Full UK driving licence.

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

To drive a Mears vehicle you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
