Hours- 10 hours per week Monday to Friday 12 to 2pm

Salary- Grade 2 SCP 3- 24796.00 Full Time Equivalent- Actual Salary- 5634.10

Temporary for 1 academic year in the first instance

Gainsborough Primary & Nursery Academy are looking to recruit a hard-working reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our catering team in September 2026.

This is a temporary role for one academic year in the first instance.

This role will involve:

Carrying out basic food preparation;

Serving food and drinks to pupils and staff;

Tidying and cleaning the dining room and kitchen areas

Washing up

The successful candidate must: -

Be enthusiastic and hardworking

Work well in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Work well as part of a team

Be willing to undertake necessary training e.g. food hygiene certificate

Have experience of undertaking basic kitchen tasks.

Have a good understanding of health and safety in the workplace

Have a good knowledge of food hygiene and cleanliness standards

Be reliable and punctual

Have a friendly and approachable manner

Have a patient and positive attitude towards children.

Be flexible and willing to help where needed.
