Up to 12.71 per hour 25 Hours per Week MondayFriday 9:00am2:00

Healthy nutritious meals play an important role in every childs day. From preparing balanced lunches to ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly youll help create positive mealtime experiences that support childrens wellbeing growth and development.

Our client is looking for a reliable and experienced Kitchen Assistant to support the Nursery Cook in preparing fresh nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 05 years. Alongside kitchen duties youll also assist with housekeeping responsibilities helping to maintain a clean safe and welcoming environment throughout the nursery.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen and takes pride in maintaining high standards of food hygiene cleanliness and organisation.

What Were Looking For

  • Previous experience working in a professional or commercial kitchen is essential.
  • Experience within a day nursery school care home hospital or healthcare environment is highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of food hygiene food safety allergen awareness and cleaning standards.
  • Experience with stock control and safe food preparation.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Reliable organised and able to work well as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to support housekeeping duties when required.

Your Role

  • Support the Nursery Cook in preparing and serving fresh nutritious and balanced meals for children aged 05 years.
  • Assist with food preparation serving and clearing away after mealtimes.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
  • Follow food safety procedures including allergen management and safe food storage.
  • Assist with stock rotation deliveries and maintaining kitchen supplies.
  • Support housekeeping duties to help ensure the nursery remains clean safe and welcoming.
  • Work collaboratively with the nursery team to provide a positive environment for children and families.
  • Follow all health and safety food hygiene and safeguarding procedures.
