Junior Red Team Operator Internship
Job Summary

The Junior Red Team Operator Internship Program at EncryptEdge Labs offers aspiring ethical hackers an intensive hands-on experience in offensive cybersecurity. Over eight weeks interns will engage in practical challenges that cover key aspects of red teaming including reconnaissance exploitation network penetration testing lateral movement and advanced attack techniques.
Participants will learn to think like attackers utilizing open-source intelligence (OSINT) social engineering and various penetration testing tools and techniques. The program culminates in a Capture The Flag (CTF) challenge and a final report to demonstrate their acquired skills. This internship is perfect for those looking to build a career in offensive security and ethical hacking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn and implement red teaming techniques including reconnaissance exploitation and social engineering.
- Perform network penetration testing lateral movement and privilege escalation.
- Engage in advanced attacks such as bypassing security controls and exploiting database vulnerabilities.
- Complete a Capture The Flag (CTF) challenge to test and demonstrate the skills gained throughout the internship.
- Write detailed reports on findings and methodologies used during tasks.
- Strong passion for cybersecurity particularly offensive security and ethical hacking.
- Consistency in completing tasks and challenges within deadlines.
- Strong documentation skills for clearly presenting findings.
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with mentors and peers.
- A degree in Computer Science Cybersecurity or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Familiarity with Linux commands and cybersecurity principles is a plus but not required.
- EC-Councils Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- eLearnSecurity Junior Penetration Tester (eJPT)
- Practical Ethical Hacking (PEH)
- Proficiency in basic exploitation techniques and vulnerability assessment.
- Understanding of privilege escalation techniques on both Windows and Linux systems.
- Knowledge of Active Directory attacks and related exploitation tactics.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Kali Linux including tools like Metasploit Nmap and Gobuster for penetration testing.
- Basic scripting skills using Python or Bash for automation.
- Familiarity with Cobalt Strike or its alternatives (Armitage) for red teaming activities.
