Mayflower have an exciting opportunity to join a small highly skilled team at the heart of bringing performances to life across our theatres. As a Junior Database Administrator you will play a key role in setting up and maintaining the systems that support our productions and audiences.
We are looking for someone who is naturally curious enjoys understanding how things work and likes finding smarter more effective ways of doing things. This role will suit someone who enjoys problem-solving asking questions and learning new skills.
Although were not looking for previous experience in a database team the successful candidate will show clear evidence of understanding in the areas of SQL programming or data analysis whether via study self-guided learning or from an earlier position. What matters most is your enthusiasm willingness to learn and interest in technology and systems. Well provide the training and support you need to build your skills and develop your career. The role will be offered based on a permanent contract at 37.5 hours per week (including weekends and evenings).
Your main responsibilities will be:
- To gain an understanding of all aspects of the Tessitura platform supported by in-person and online learning.
- Support the Database Team by setting up offers performances reports and
- Collaborate widely to help colleagues understand how to achieve their aims.
- Work with us to devise new ways of improving the service we provide to our audiences and colleagues.
Our ideal applicant will have:
Essential qualities:
- GCSE Maths to Grade 5 (or equivalent) and above
- Basic understanding of SQL (gained through work study or self-guided learning)
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately.
- Demonstrable ability to solve problems logically.
- Experience using spreadsheets to organise or analyse information.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Enthusiastic about learning technical systems.
Desirable qualities:
- Experience using databases CRM systems or business software.
- Experience analysing data or producing reports.
- Experience of having learned new software.
- Experience of working in a customer-focused environment.
- Experience of the arts entertainment or theatre sector.
- Knowledge of Tessitura Spektrix or similar ticketing systems.
