Job Summary

8 Month Contract With A Local Authority

Job Purpose

To carry out high-quality joinery and multi-trade maintenance work on vacant (void) council properties ensuring homes are refurbished efficiently and to a high standard so they are ready for new residents as quickly as possible.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out a range of joinery repairs and installations including hanging doors and fitting complete kitchens.
Complete basic plumbing tasks as required.
Undertake wall tiling to a good standard.
Carry out general multi-trade maintenance work within void properties.
Ensure all work is completed safely efficiently and to a high standard of quality.
Work as part of the Voids Team to help minimise property turnaround times.
Maintain a clean safe and organised working environment.
Use Council-provided vehicle responsibly and in accordance with relevant policies.

Requirements

Proven experience in joinery and general property maintenance.
Strong carpentry skills including door hanging and kitchen fitting.
Basic plumbing skills.
Experience carrying out wall tiling.
Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
Own set of trade tools is essential.
Full UK driving licence

Location: Council properties Charnwood Borough Council
Hours per Week: 37 Hours
Pay: Bi-weekly payments
