Italian & Spanish Teacher – Harrow | Maternity Cover

Teaching: 80% Italian / 20% Spanish

A lovely secondary school in Harrow is looking for a full-time Italian & Spanish Teacher to join the Modern Foreign Languages Department from December 2026 on a maternity cover contract through to July 2027.

The timetable is weighted towards Italian which will make up approximately 80% of the teaching timetable with the remaining 20% focused on Spanish.

The school is particularly interested in teachers who can teach Italian up to KS5 although this is highly desirable rather than essential. You will be expected to teach both Italian and Spanish confidently up to KS4.

You will join an established MFL team and teach engaging well-structured lessons across the relevant year groups.

The role will involve:

• Teaching Italian for approximately 80% of the timetable

• Teaching Spanish for approximately 20%

• Teaching both languages up to KS4

• Italian teaching up to KS5 where possible

• Planning and delivering engaging MFL lessons

• Assessing and tracking pupil progress

• Supporting pupils across different abilities

• Contributing to the wider MFL Department

Were looking for a qualified and experienced Italian & Spanish Teacher who can confidently teach both subjects at KS4.

Italian to KS5 is highly desirable but is not essential.

Youll need to be passionate about languages well organised and able to build positive relationships with pupils. Previous experience teaching in a secondary school is preferred.
