Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and experienced ISVA Team Leader to lead support and develop our team of Independent Sexual Violence Advisers (ISVAs and Childrens ISVAs).
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about improving outcomes for survivors of sexual abuse and ensuring the delivery of high-quality trauma-informed support services.

As Team Leader you will provide day-to-day operational leadership case oversight and supervision to ISVAs ensuring safe effective and survivor-centred practice. You will play a key role in maintaining service standards managing risk and contributing to development and promotion of the service. The team leader will also hold a small case load of their own clients.

Key Responsibilities
Provide line management supervision and support to ISVA team including case management oversight
Ensure the delivery of high-quality trauma-informed survivor-centred support in line with best practice and service standards
Monitor workloads risk levels and safeguarding concerns across the team
Lead on performance management professional development and wellbeing of team members
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including police health specialist services and the wider One YMCA family
Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies confidentiality and data protection requirements
Contribute to service development reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
Empower survivors to make informed choices and increase their safety and independence through delivery of practical and emotional support

You will need to be a compassionate and resilient professional with:
Relevant professional qualification ISVA CHISVA IDVA or similar in related subject or be prepared to complete relevant training
Extensive experience of working with survivors of sexual domestic or other similar abuse or experience supporting vulnerable people
Comprehensive knowledge of sexual abuse and exploitation its impact relevant legislation and criminal justice system.
Experience supervising or managing team members or project teams (formal or informal leadership experience considered)
Excellent communication advocacy and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals
Able to travel across Bedfordshire with access to own vehicle

If you have a proven track record of supporting others a strong understanding of safeguarding practices and the ability to deliver trauma-informed survivor-centred support we would be delighted to hear from you.

We recognise the value of lived and professional experience and are open to supporting the right candidate to achieve the ISVA qualification as part of the role.

As this role involves working with vulnerable members of society this position will require an Enhanced Criminal Disclosure check and police vetting which will be conducted once a conditional offer is made.

  • Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 11-19 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund
