Rate of Pay: 410.02- 549.00 per day
Summary:
The Interim Head of Revenues and Benefits will provide strategic and operational leadership for Central Bedfordshire Councils high-performing Revenues and Benefits Service. The postholder will oversee the delivery of all statutory Revenues and Benefits functions ensuring excellent customer outcomes legislative compliance strong financial stewardship and continuous service role will lead a large and complex service covering Council Tax Business Rates Housing Benefits Local Council Tax Support and the Corporate Fraud Team. The successful candidate will act as the Councils lead expert on Revenues and Benefits legislation advising senior leaders shaping policy driving transformation initiatives and maintaining the integrity and sustainability of the Collection Fund.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the transformation and modernisation of services identifying opportunities to improve efficiency accessibility and customer experience.
- Ensure services consistently achieve performance targets and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Analyse financial trends and performance data to support informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with fraud legislation policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and resilience during periods of organisational change and operational challenge.
Qualifications:
- Professional qualification in Revenues and Benefits Public Finance Management or a related discipline.
Essentials:
- Proven track record of operating successfully at a senior leadership level within a Revenues and Benefits Service.
- Significant experience managing statutory Revenues and Benefits functions within a local government environment.
- Demonstrable experience overseeing Collection Fund performance and financial management.
- Extensive experience interpreting and applying Revenues and Benefits legislation.

- This role requires a Basic DBS
