Intellectual Property and Contracts Associate

This role ensures that innovation and R&D outputs are effectively protected and leveraged to drive business growth. The position requires a unique blend of legal technical and commercial expertise to maximize the value of IP assets and align them with technology roadmaps and corporate objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Support the development and negotiation of PhD program partnership agreements with global universities collaborating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Manage and coordinate onboarding activities and Purchase Request processes for university partners to ensure smooth engagement.
• Organize and maintain comprehensive document management systems for all agreements and related paperwork.
• Review Invention Disclosures submitted by PhD programs and collaborate with product line teams to ensure inventions are evaluated according to partnership terms.
• Assist in general IP contract reviews under IP Counsel supervision gaining exposure to IP management in a fast-paced electrification power environment.
• Provide administrative and project support to the IP team as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• The candidate is currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Law Intellectual Property or a related field with an accredited university.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain document accuracy.
• Proactive learner willing to engage with complex contractual and IP-related topics.

Desired Characteristics:

• Prior exposure to contract review research agreements or university partnerships is a plus.
• Proficient in the English language both written and verbal.
• French language skills are highly desirable
• Comfortable working in a dynamic fast paced and collaborative team environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
