Job Summary

We are working closely with a local authority in Bexleyto assist with the appointment of anIndependent Reviews Officer on a 3-months contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 24.93- 34.26 per hour

Summary:

The Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) plays a critical role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people who are looked after by the London Borough of Bexley. The postholder is responsible for chairing statutory Looked After Child (LAC) Reviews monitoring care planning arrangements and ensuring that childrens wishes feelings and best interests remain central to all decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain responsibility for a caseload of allocated children and young people as their named Independent Reviewing Officer.
  • Ensure childrens wishes feelings and lived experiences are central to all review discussions and care planning decisions.
  • Provide independent oversight and constructive challenge where care plans interventions or professional actions are not achieving positive outcomes.
  • Act as a key liaison point between Childrens Services and partner organisations involved in care planning.
  • Support the development of policies procedures and practice guidance relating to looked after children.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Social Work qualification (BA Social Work MA Social Work DipSW CQSW or equivalent).

Essentials:

  • Significant post-qualification experience within Childrens Social Care.
  • Registration with the Social Work England.
  • Extensive experience working with looked after children child protection safeguarding and care planning processes.
  • Experience of quality assurance auditing and service improvement activities.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
