Job Summary
About the role
Working as part of a team with the HR Business Partner and Senior HR Advisor your detailed current knowledge and experience of supporting sickness absence management and employee relations casework will be needed to assist with the effective management of a unionised workforce providing a range of environmental services including waste grounds maintenance and street cleansing services.
Youll work closely with managers and supervisors establishing positive customer-focussed relationships to provide first line advice assist with meetings draft letters and reports process queries and ensure that relevant policies and procedures are understood and followed. You would need the ability to collate straightforward data relating to these processes.
The service is facing a number of exciting initiatives and there will be opportunities for exposure to the process and development of strategic projects.
You should be educated to Degree level or have equivalent knowledge and experience. CIPD qualification or studying towards one is desirable.
You must have experience working in HR in a generalist capacity assisting with the range of HR processes and a reasonable knowledge of the principles of employment law and how they underpin HR policies and procedures.
Experience of giving first line advice on attendance management grievance performance management and conduct; closely supporting managers with these processes; and the ability to work to deadlines are required.
You should have the ability to quickly form good working relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences and be proficient in the use of MS Word Excel Powerpoint and HR information systems.
You will need to attend work on-site for a minimum of three days per week in order to be accessible and on hand to provide support as needed.
