Housing Support Worker - Doncaster

Target delivers the highest standard of housing and support to enable vulnerable people to live independently fulfil their potential and contribute to their communities and wider society.


Main Purpose:

To support individuals within their temporary accommodation gain the necessary skills to move on to independent living.


Housing Support Worker Tasks

  • Assessment of eligible referrals
  • Moving individuals into Target accommodation
  • Ensure compliance with tenancy/licence agreements & rights and responsibilities
  • Develop a person-centered support plan and risk assessment
  • Structured support visits
  • Support to report repairs and maintenance issues
  • Housing management tasks (e.g void reporting monitoring rent/HB payments H & S checks)
  • Multi-agency working & signposting to other agencies
  • Maximising income & budgeting
  • Move on plans & support to obtain independent accommodation


Person Specifications

  • Understanding of supported housing principles tenancy rights and responsibilities
  • Understanding of GDPR/Data Protection Act and safeguarding adults
  • Basic knowledge of the Welfare Benefits System.
  • An understanding of risk assessments and support planning
  • Awareness of the issues facing vulnerable people ( health disability homelessness)
  • Understanding of Health & Safety in housing
  • Competence of using IT
  • Car driver with use of own vehicle
