Job Summary

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Ashfieldto assist with the appointment of a Housing Options Officer on a 3-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 21.99 - 29.01 per hour

Summary:

The Housing Options Officer provides a high-quality housing advice and assessment service to individuals and families who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. The role involves assessing housing needs investigating homelessness applications preventing and relieving homelessness securing suitable accommodation and ensuring compliance with homelessness legislation and statutory guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and investigate homelessness applications in line with legislation and council policies.
  • Provide housing advice and support to prevent and relieve homelessness.
  • Manage a caseload of homelessness and housing options cases.
  • Conduct homelessness enquiries and make Section 184 decisions.
  • Secure suitable temporary accommodation for eligible households.

Essentials:

  • Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Experience assessing and managing homelessness applications.
  • Competent in making Section 184 homelessness decisions.
  • Experience working to prevent and relieve homelessness.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and vulnerable client groups.
  • Experience of multi-agency and partnership working.

  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
