Job Summary

We have an exciting role on offer within our Residential service as a Home Support Manager.

Are you ready to make a real and lasting difference in the lives of children and young people We are looking for a caring enthusiastic and inspiring Home Support Manager to lead a team that supports young people to feel safe happy and able to reach their full potential.

In this role you will lead a dedicated team working with children and young people who may have a range of needs including autism physical disabilities complex emotional needs and behaviours that may challenge. You will play a key part in creating a warm stable and nurturing environment where every child feels valued listened to and included and where they are supported to grow in confidence and independence.

As a Home Support Manager you will not only oversee the day-to-day running of the service but also guide and develop your team to deliver high-quality person-centred care. This includes supporting staff through supervision coaching and development managing performance and ensuring the service meets regulatory standards including CQC and safeguarding requirements. You will work closely with families carers and partner organisations to make sure children and young people receive the right support at the right time. You will help shape services that allow children to remain in their homes and communities wherever possible providing tailored support short breaks and opportunities for positive experiences. From planning meaningful activities to encouraging everyday moments of fun creativity and connection your leadership will ensure children feel supported in all areas of their lives including their emotional wellbeing health development and social connections.

The role also involves driving continuous improvement by monitoring service quality managing resources effectively and working collaboratively with other professionals and stakeholders. You will lead on service planning build strong partnerships and contribute to developing a service that consistently delivers the best possible outcomes for children young people and their families. We are looking for someone who brings compassion energy and a sense of purpose alongside strong leadership skills and experience in health or social care.

You will be confident in supporting children with complex needs managing challenges positively and inspiring your team to provide safe caring and high-quality support. The role is based primarily at West Middlesbrough Family Hub with opportunities to work across services in the community. Flexible working patterns are part of the role to ensure the needs of children and families are met and we are committed to supporting your wellbeing and worklife balance.

To succeed in this role you will:

Have experience of working with children and young people.

Understand child development and behaviours which may be seen as challenging at times.

Be caring patient and child-focused with a positive and flexible attitude.

Be able to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.

Be flexible and willing to work morning evenings weekends bank holidays on a rota basis as needed.

Hold a recognised QCF Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and / a QCF 5 / 6 in Leadership for Health and Social Care in Children and Young Peoples Services or equivalent completing in 18 months of being enrolled or be willing to work towards this.

Hold a full UK driving licence with business insurance and have access to a vehicle.
