Job Summary

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Waltham Forest to assist with the appointment of a Home Ownership Officer on a 3-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 20.50 - 22.64 per hour

Summary:

The Home Ownership Officer will be responsible for the accurate calculation notification and billing of estimated and actual service charges including major works shared ownership rent and ground rent in accordance with lease terms and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities:

  • Calculate notify and bill estimated and actual service charges including major works.
  • Calculate and administer shared ownership rent and ground rent in accordance with lease terms and legislation.
  • Undertake Section 20 consultations under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 (as amended) ensuring all statutory and lease requirements are met.
  • Provide information advice and guidance to leaseholders shared owners and housing staff on service charges major works leases and relevant legislation.
  • Respond to and resolve enquiries and disputes relating to service charges and major works.
  • Ensure charges are accurately raised and fully recoverable in accordance with relevant legislation and lease agreements.

Essentials:

  • Relevant experience in housing home ownership leasehold management service charges or a related local authority environment.
  • Good understanding of leasehold legislation and service charge administration.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of Section 20 consultation requirements under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.
  • Must have previous Leasehold Management experience
  • Experience calculating and administering service charges and major works charges.
