An independent day school in Newmarket is seeking a passionate History Teacher to join its humanities department. The successful candidate will deliver stimulating lessons and help students connect historical study with local national and international events.
Teach inspiring History lessons: Deliver well-planned lessons across KS3 GCSE and selected sixth-form classes.
Develop historical understanding: Encourage students to analyse evidence interpretations and historical change.
Support enrichment: Organise talks trips workshops and history-related extracurricular activities.
Use varied resources: Incorporate source material technology and discussion to deepen learning.
Contribute to assessment: Mark work accurately and provide constructive feedback to students.
Promote independent study: Encourage students to research question and present historical arguments.
History specialist: Demonstrates strong subject knowledge across a broad historical curriculum.
Qualified teacher: Holds QTS or an equivalent qualification.
