An established academic grammar school in Beccles is looking for an enthusiastic History Teacher to join its humanities faculty from January 2027. The role would suit a teacher who enjoys challenging students and encouraging independent historical enquiry.
Teach History across key stages: Deliver high-quality lessons from KS3 through to GCSE and A-Level.
Develop historical analysis: Teach students to evaluate sources interpretations and historical arguments.
Support examination success: Prepare students for written assessments coursework and examinations.
Lead debate opportunities: Establish or support a History and current affairs debate society.
Promote independent research: Encourage students to complete extended projects and historical investigations.
Contribute to enrichment: Support educational visits lectures and humanities competitions.
History specialist: Has excellent knowledge of British European and international history.
Qualified teacher: Holds QTS or an equivalent qualification.
Academically ambitious: Enjoys stretching high-achieving students through challenging material.
Strong presenter: Can deliver engaging explanations and facilitate thoughtful discussion.
Assessment confident: Understands examination requirements and effective feedback.
