We are seeking an experienced Highways Quantity Surveyor to provide specialist commercial and contractual support across a portfolio of highway and transportation capital projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring robust financial management effective cost control and successful delivery of transport infrastructure schemes within approved budgets and programme timescales.
Responsibilities
Manage the financial and contractual aspects of highway and transportation infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.
Prepare detailed cost estimates budgets forecasts and cash flow projections for capital projects.
Monitor project expenditure and provide regular financial reporting to project teams and senior stakeholders.
Assess validate and certify contractor applications for payment in accordance with contract requirements.
Administer and manage NEC and other relevant engineering contracts.
Requirements:
Significant experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within highways transportation civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Proven track record of managing commercial and contractual matters on publicly funded capital programmes.
Experience in cost planning budget management forecasting and financial reporting.
Strong experience administering NEC contracts including assessment of compensation events and change management processes.
Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Quantity Surveying Commercial Management Construction Management Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or working towards chartered status or equivalent professional qualification and experience.
Additional Information
12 months contract with a local authority
Contract Type: Outside IR35
Duration: Until 31 July 2027 (linked to externally funded projects)
Rate: 60 per hour Umbrella (43.47 PAYE equivalent)
Working hours: 40 hours per week
Must be onsite in Coventry 2 days per week - Various offices across Coventry can be used i.e. Whitley Depot Eastern Green or Friargate.
We work on a bi-weekly payment schedule.
