A highly regarded and well-maintained school in Guildford is seeking an experienced Caretaker to join its premises team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical individual who takes pride in their work and has a strong understanding of the requirements involved in maintaining a busy educational environment.

• Acting as a keyholder for the school.

• Opening and securing buildings and grounds.

• Completing daily site inspections.

• Carrying out general maintenance and repairs.

• Undertaking basic DIY plumbing and carpentry tasks.

• Monitoring heating lighting and security systems.

• Supporting fire safety procedures.

• Maintaining outdoor areas and playgrounds.

• Managing deliveries and contractor access.

• Moving furniture and equipment.

• Reporting maintenance issues.

• Ensuring the school site remains safe and presentable.

• Previous experience working as a Caretaker or Premises professional within a school is essential.

• Strong practical maintenance skills.

• Good knowledge of school health and safety requirements.

• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.

• Reliable trustworthy and proactive.

• Good communication skills.

• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
