Key Responsibilities
  • Opening and securing the school premises.

  • Carrying out daily site inspections.

  • Completing minor repairs and maintenance.

  • Undertaking general DIY tasks.

  • Monitoring heating lighting and security systems.

  • Maintaining school grounds and playgrounds.

  • Supporting fire safety procedures.

  • Moving furniture and equipment.

  • Managing deliveries.

  • Liaising with contractors.

  • Reporting faults and maintenance issues.

  • Supporting health and safety checks.

  • Preparing rooms for school events.

Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Caretaker or Premises professional within a school is essential.

  • Practical maintenance and DIY skills.

  • Previous educational-sector experience.

  • Good understanding of health and safety.

  • Reliable and proactive approach.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
