Looking for a well-paid HGV Mechanic role without losing your weekends
We are recruiting for an established family-run haulage and HGV workshop business based in Holsworthy. They have been operating since 1977 and are looking to add another HGV Mechanic to their experienced workshop team due to continued growth.
This is a permanent Monday-to-Friday position with no weekend working offering a genuine work-life balance alongside a salary of up to 56000 depending on your experience.
You will be working from a modern well-equipped workshop maintaining the companys own fleet of HGVs as well as carrying out servicing and repairs for external customers. The work is varied and includes trucks trailers and bulk blowing equipment with particular experience across DAF and Volvo vehicles.
The role
Your day-to-day work will include:
HGV servicing maintenance and repairs
Routine safety inspections
MOT preparation
Fault finding and diagnostics
Repairs to HGVs and trailers
ABS and EBS diagnostics and repairs
Welding and fabrication work
Completing job cards and vehicle paperwork accurately
Ensuring all vehicles are maintained to the required safety standards
What we are looking for
You should have previous experience working as an:
HGV Mechanic
HGV Technician
LGV Technician
Commercial Vehicle Mechanic
HGV Fitter
Ideally you will hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification.
IRTEC accreditation would be beneficial although support can be provided to help the right person gain the qualification.
We would also consider a capable semi-skilled technician who already has practical commercial vehicle experience and is looking to develop further within the HGV industry.
