HGV Class 2 Multi-Drop Driver – Newcastle-under-Lyme

Drivers Today are recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 / Category C Multi-Drop Driverfor a well-established specialist pallet distribution operation in the Newcastle-under-Lyme / Longport area.

This is regular long-term workfor a driver who knows pallet-network multi-drop and is comfortable completing a busy delivery round.

Youll predominantly be delivering throughout Cheshire and Warrington (CW & WA postcodes) with routes organised into local postcode areas rather than unnecessarily spread-out drops.

Youll be driving an 18-tonne HGV Class 2 curtain-sided vehicle with tail lift completing approximately 1520 clustered deliveries per day together with customer and network collections.

The work includes:

• HGV Class 2 / Category C driving

• Multi-drop pallet deliveries

• Mainly CW and WA postcode areas

• 18-tonne curtain-sided vehicles

• Tail-lift deliveries

• Electric and manual pump-truck operation

• Deliveries to businesses and shops

• Some residential deliveries

• Customer and pallet-network collections

• Curtain operation and load security

• Delivery paperwork

Because some pallets are delivered by tail lift directly to shops and residential addresses you must be confident and safe using both electric and manual pump trucks.

Approximately 45 hours per week

This is a long-term position so were looking for someone who wants regular work rather than occasional agency shifts.

This isnt suitable for someone completely new to Class 2 multi-drop work.

Were looking for:

• Minimum 12 months HGV Class 2 multi-drop experience

• Valid Category C / HGV Class 2 licence

• Driver CPC

• Digital Tachograph Card

• Previous pallet-network experience

• Curtain-side experience

• Tail-lift experience

• Confident using manual and electric pump trucks

• Good knowledge of load security

• Careful and professional driving style

• Good timekeeping and reliability

• Good customer-facing manner

Counterbalance FLT experience/licence would be useful but isnt essential.

For an experienced multi-drop driver this offers the advantage of getting to know the same operation delivery areas and customersrather than constantly changing assignments.
