Job Summary

We are is seeking reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 (Category CE) Drivers for ongoing container haulage and intermodal freight operations based in Tilbury and DP World London Gateway. Perfectly positioned with direct access via the A13 A1089 and M25 (J30/J31) this role offers top-tier hourly rates consistent port and trunking runs and long-term stability with temp-to-perm pathways for dedicated drivers.

Hours: 45 50 hours per week (Day shifts from 05:00 night trunks and 4-on/4-off rotas available)

Start Date: Immediate starts available following site registration and driving assessment

Safe Transport: Container logistics port-to-hub transfers and nationwide skeleton trailer freight movement

Vehicle Checks: Conducting daily walk-around safety inspections and reporting vehicle/trailer defects

Compliance: Ensuring correct container pinning weight compliance and strict adherence to EU Drivers Hours and Tachograph rules

Documentation: Managing digital terminal passes customs handovers and container interchange receipts (EIR)

Requirements

Licence & Cards: Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category CE) licence Driver CPC qualification card and Digital Tachograph card

Port Knowledge: Prior container/skeletal trailer experience or London Gateway / Port of Tilbury card preferred (site induction provided for strong candidates)

Clean Record: Maximum 6 endorsement points (no DR DD or IN convictions)

Professional Attitude: Punctual safety-conscious and compliant with dock and terminal speed limits
