Job Summary
The first few hours of the school day are some of the most important.
Before children arrive the site needs to be safe secure and ready to welcome a busy school communityand thats where you come in.
Were working with a caring and inclusive nursery school in Southwark that is looking to appoint a Premises Officer from September on an ongoing temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced school premises professional who enjoys working independently and takes pride in maintaining a safe welcoming environment where young children can thrive.

As Premises Officer youll be responsible for opening the school each morning and ensuring the site is fully prepared for the day ahead.
Your duties will include:
Opening the school and carrying out daily site checks
Completing minor repairs and general maintenance
Ensuring the premises are safe secure and well presented
Carrying out routine health and safety inspections
Reporting maintenance issues and liaising with contractors where required
Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the school site
Previous experience working in a school premises caretaker or facilities role is essential.
Contract: Ongoing temporary
Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am 11:30am (20 hours per week)
Youll be joining a school that is passionate about providing a safe nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is known valued and encouraged to develop confidence curiosity and independence. Staff work collaboratively with families to create a welcoming community where children receive the very best start to their education.
