Healthcare Assistant- Minor Procedures OPD

We have an opportunity for aHealthcare Assistantto join their team of staff.

This is afull-timerole for37.5 hours a week. The role holder willbe requiredtocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Assistpatients with personal hygiene washing dressing toileting oral care and mobility needs respecting their preferences and dignity.

• Help patients with eating drinking and nutritional support including documenting intake whereappropriate.

• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives creating a caring and safe environment.

• Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure pulse respiratory rate temperature oxygen saturation and blood glucose levels (afterappropriate training).

• Support basic clinical procedures including wound care setupassistingwith catheter care pressure area prevention and mobility aids.

• Prepare andmaintainclinical areas including trolleys beds and equipment in readiness for patient use.

• Work collaboratively with nurses doctors therapists and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Previousexperience in a care or health support role (hospital care home community or domiciliary).

• Good communicationand interpersonal skills with a caring compassionate attitude.

• Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately.

• Basic literacy numeracy and IT skills.

• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.

• Knowledge of safeguarding infection control and confidentiality procedures.
