Salary: L29 - L35 (start point within the scale negotiable depending on experience)

Frome College is an Upper School for up to 1500 pupils aged 14 - 19 serving the town of Frome and surrounding areas.
MNSP is seeking to appoint an exceptional Headteacher/Principal who can continue the improvement work that has taken place over the two years that the College has been a part of MNSP. Whilst the College is currently graded as good in its most recent inspection further rapid improvement in some key areas is required before the schools next inspection.
This is a rare opportunity for a leader who values high standards in behaviour and conduct of pupils to combine strategic ambition with operational excellence ensuring that every pupil can thrive academically and socially.
In this role you will have responsibility for the leadership and management of the school fostering a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement. You will work collaboratively with the Trust Local Governing Body staff parents and the wider community to secure outstanding outcomes for all pupils and strengthen the schools reputation as a centre of excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing clear strategic leadership that secures the school vision and promotes high standards of behaviour achievement and personal development
- Ensuring consistently high-quality teaching and learning so that all students make strong progress
- Developing a broad balanced curriculum including opportunities for outdoor learning and character development
- Leading robust self-evaluation and rapid school improvement planning aligned with Trust priorities
- Managing change through periods of transition (Please note - following consultation within the local community Somerset Local Authority and Multi-Academy Trusts in the town are currently considering a proposal to move from a three to two-tier education structure in Frome. This would result in Frome College becoming a Secondary school for up to 1500 pupils aged 11 - 16 and a sixth form of up to 400 from September 2028.)
- Managing resources effectively to ensure sustainability efficiency and value for money
- Building strong partnerships with parents carers local schools and community organisations
- Leading and developing staff to their full potential through effective performance management and professional development
- Ensuring safeguarding is robust and that the wellbeing of all students and staff is paramount
We are seeking an ambitious and resilient leader who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status
- Has successful Headship experience within a secondary school setting
- Has a proven track record of raising standards and securing sustained improvement
- Demonstrates strong strategic thinking and system leadership skills
- Is an excellent communicator able to inspire confidence and build productive relationships
- Has sound financial and organisational acumen
- Is committed to inclusion equality and ensuring that every pupil matters
