As our Lead Pastry Chef you will oversee the daily production of all bakery and pastry items in a dedicated production kitchen with no service allowing you to focus on crafting outstanding products in a well-organised and professional environment. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the pastry and bakery offering of our newest location while mentoring and developing a small production team.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Leading the daily production of artisan breads pastries cakes desserts and other bakery products.
Planning production schedules to ensure products are prepared efficiently and meet daily business demand.
Maintaining excellent mise en place and ensuring consistency across every batch produced.
Preparing products to the highest quality standards by following recipes accurately and supporting standardised
production processes.
Checking all products before dispatch to ensure quality presentation and consistency.
Monitoring food costs stock rotation (FIFO) yields and minimizing waste.
Assisting with stock ordering inventory management and maintaining accurate recipe documentation.
Supervising training and mentoring junior members of the pastry team.
Maintaining a clean organised and efficient production kitchen.
Ensuring full compliance with food safety HACCP and health & safety regulations.
Liaise with other departments and sites escalating any issues to senior management when required.
Qualifications:
To thrive in this role youll need:
Previous experience as a Lead Pastry Chef Senior Pastry Chef or similar supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of artisan bread pastry cake and dessert production.
Experience leading training and developing junior team members.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail with a passion for quality and consistency.
Good understanding of food safety HACCP stock control and cost management.
The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
A positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
What We Offer:
Full-time position: Up to 48 hours per week.
Salary:per annum plus service charge (Tronc) depending on experience.
No service dedicated production role.
