Job Summary
- Develop prepare and serve meals for students and staff.
- Oversee and direct the daily functions of the school kitchen.
- Lead and support the catering team effectively.
- Ensure meals meet high standards of quality and presentation.
- Monitor food quality portion sizes and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene health and safety and safeguarding protocols.
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate ordering as necessary.
- Oversee food storage and stock rotation practices.
- Keep precise records related to food safety and kitchen operations.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe kitchen environment.
- Optimize kitchen resources and minimize food waste.
- Enhance the dining experience for students and staff.
- Proven experience in a supervisory catering role.
- Valid Food Safety Certificate.
- Enhanced DBS Check.
- Capability to lead and inspire a small catering team.
- Experience in high-volume meal preparation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and exercise initiative.
- Dedication to high standards of food quality and customer service.
- Dependable adaptable and professional demeanor.
- Experience in a school educational or Local Authority catering setting.
- Relevant qualifications in catering or professional cookery.
- Familiarity with school food standards and nutritional guidelines.
