Job Description

Head of Finance Slough (3 days in the office)

Senior Leadership Role

Provide strategic financial leadership ensure full compliance with statutory and group reporting standards and drive improved financial performance while supporting the Finance Director.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting and reporting functions including Financial/Management Accounting AR AP and Payroll.
  • Coordinate divisional controllers to ensure timely and accurate financial outputs.
  • Maintain internal controls accounting systems and procedures.
  • Produce functional budgets and management accounts that support cost control and operational awareness.
  • Lead cashflow management ensuring alignment with business strategy and realtime visibility of risks and opportunities.
  • Coordinate and present budgets and forecasts consolidating divisional inputs and presenting to senior leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with group finance teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support the Finance Director with strategic and adhoc projects.

Key Measures

  • Accurate and timely production of internal/external financial accounts and budgets.
  • Accurate tax computations and submissions.
  • Effective KPI development across volume quality and efficiency.
  • Delivery of leadership commitments and contribution to overall company performance.

About you

  • Fully qualified accountant with seniorlevel experience in financial accounting reporting and governance within a complex organisation.
  • Strong inclusive leader capable of motivating and developing teams.
  • Excellent communication relationshipbuilding negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proactive solutionsfocused mindset with resilience and adaptability.
  • Strong organisational skills emotional intelligence and selfmanagement.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge including IFRS16 IFRS15 IAS2 IAS36 IAS37 FRS102.
    • Indepth lease accounting expertise (finance/operating leases modifications disclosures).
    • Strong understanding of revenue recognition inventory valuation impairment and provisions.
  • Experience overseeing tax returns aligned to the above standards.
  • Practical experience with group consolidation reporting modules and intercompany processes in a multientity environment.

Desirable Skills

  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience using BI and AI tools to enhance reporting and process efficiency.
  • Ability to research and apply IFRS/FRS102 to broader asset and leaserelated impacts.
  • Experience working within SAP environments including system implementation and optimisation.
