Head Greenkeeper

Old Thorns Hotel & Resort have an exciting opportunity for a Head Greenkeeper to lead our Greenkeeping Team.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead manage and develop the Greenkeeping Team ensuring high standards of performance and teamwork.
• Oversee the daily maintenance and presentation of the golf course including greens tees fairways and bunkers.
• Maintain seasonal maintenance programmes to optimise course conditions.
• Manage turf health irrigation drainage and effective pest and disease control.
• Manage departmental budgets resources and purchasing to ensure efficient operations.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Environmental and Sustainability standards.
• Work closely with the Golf Team and the wider resort team to deliver an outstanding golf experience for our members and guests.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by senior management in line with the responsibilities of the role.

Qualifications :

• Valid Right to Work in the UK - Sponsorship is not available for this position
• Proven experience in greenkeeping with previous supervisory or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of turf management horticulture and golf course management.
• Excellent leadership communication and organisational skills.
• Experience managing machinery budgets and maintenance schedules.
• A proactive approach with a passion for maintaining exceptional course standards.
• Be qualified in NVQ 2/3 Sports Turf PA 1 2 and 6 spraying and hold a Chainsaw Licence.
