Guillotine Operator
Job Summary
We have an opportunity for a Guillotine Operator to join our team at our site in Loughton Essex. Reporting to the Finishing Process Lead you will be required to ensure guillotine output is maximised and quality standards including cut registration adherence are maintained across the process whilst adhering to health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure guillotines are run in a safe & proper manner
- Maximise guillotine efficiency to produce consistently high output and quality including interfacing with Bay leaders and QC to ensure quality cut standards are achieved with minimum spoilage.
- Problem solving on the guillotine identifying technical problems and providing solutions.
- Control and monitor associated paperwork
- Maintain maintenance schedule and consumables levels for the guillotines. I.e. blades
- Meet production targets set by management.
- Ensure a full and efficient shift changeover occurs and the correct information is communicated
- Actively support continuous improvement activities within the whole of DLR to maintain the companys efficiency and competitiveness.
- Disciplined and able to follow SOPs to standardise working practices be they operational or safety related
Contract type: Permanent
Working hours: 24/5 Shift Pattern - consists of 3 crews of 12-hour shifts of either: 6.00 am to 6.00 pm; and 6.00 pm to 6.00 am Monday to Friday rota. Attendance is 40 hours per week on average including a 30-minute unpaid break plus a 15-minute unpaid break to be taken during the shift
Base location: Debden
Basic Salary: 42965per annum. Upon successful completion of a 6-month probation period this will rise to 45576 per annum.
Skills Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment operating mechanical equipment (Essential)
- Computer literate (Essential)
- Comfortable working with numbers demonstrated through previous experience or relevant qualifications (Essential)
- Good eyesight and attention to detail (Essential)
- Ability to demonstrate clear communication & interpersonal skills
- Competent in all aspects of guillotine cutting and autonomous maintenance
- Experience of finishing processes
