Job Summary

SLR Consulting is looking for a highly motivated Geologist to join our growing Mining Advisory team which is part of our wider European Advisory service line. This is an exciting opportunity for an earlycareer geoscientist to develop technical and consulting skills while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary group supporting clients across the mining and minerals sector. Based within one of SLRs UK offices youll contribute to a wide range of projects involving geological modelling mineral resource evaluation quarry and mine planning support duediligence studies and broader technical advisory work for global mining clients.

With our move to hybrid working combined with our collaborativeone team culture location is flexible for this role. However you would need to be within commuting distance of an office. role

With support and mentorship from colleagues you will:

  • Undertake geological site work such as core logging sampling and mapping

  • Assist with the design and supervision of mineral resource drilling programmes

  • Generate and manage geological databases

  • Review interpret and report geological data

  • Carry out geological modelling and help prepare technical reports

  • Assist with the preparation of proposals and contribute to business development within the company

The position will involve regular site work which may involve working on sites away from home.

As a graduate you will automatically be enrolled on our structured Graduate Programme which will support both your technical and business development giving you a great foundation for a rewarding and dynamic career.

About you

Whilst the role would suit a graduate seeking their first professional role we would equally be happy to hear from candidates who have already gained some degree of post-graduate experience in a commercial environment in a comparable role. Due to the nature of the role a full driving licence valid in the UK is essential for this position.

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Geology (or related subject) and formal academic training in Earth Science

  • Graduate level membership of a relevant professional body (or eligibility for)

  • Experience of drilling fieldwork core logging and sampling is desirable

  • Familiarity with spatial software such CAD GIS tools as well as geological modelling software such as LSS Leapfrog Surpac Datamine Micromine would be advantageous

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to write concise reports and confidence to interact with clients
