Graduate Electrical Engineer Water Croydon

We are looking for Graduate Electrical Engineers to join our established and growing Water teams with opportunities to be based across our North and Midlands offices - Birmingham Chesterfield Leeds and Manchester while also benefiting from our flexible hybrid working model. The teams are delivering an exciting portfolio of water programmes and projects through long term frameworks with key clients including major UK water companies (Thames Water Wessex Water Welsh Water Severn Trent Water Southern Water and Yorkshire) and Tier 1 Contractors.

You will have the opportunity to engage in all design stages including Feasibility Outline Detail and Construction Design ensuring compliance with National and International Design Standards.

Heres what youll do:

Electrical Design

Support senior and lead electrical engineers in the development and management of all aspects of electrical design in wastewater and water infrastructure / treatment projects including:

• Production of power supply capacity assessments and load calculations
• Production of electrical single line and cable block diagrams
• Production of cable calculations and cable schedules
• Production of lighting design specifications 
• Production of Motor Control Centres (MCC)/Control Panel specifications including Instrumentation Control and Automation (ICA) scopes 
• Production of electrical specification documents 
• Utilise Amtech Electrical OM software design programmes 
• Liaise with internal and external design teams clients and contractors as appropriate 
• Provision of timely reporting to both the client and internal team lead.

Collaboration

Work closely with civil mechanical electrical and process engineers to deliver a variety of interesting small and large projects from concept to detailed design. Many of the project teams are UK wide offering an excellent unbeatable opportunity to share expertise and broaden knowledge through the company.  

Digital Solutions

You will help shape these digital offerings and use them on projects including BIM ProjectWise intelligent P&IDs and AECOMs own tools developed in-house.

Qualifications :

Ready to push the limits of whats possible

Heres what were looking for:

• MEng in Electrical Engineering (2:1 or above or equivalent) would be preferred; 
• Relevant work experience would be an advantage; 
• Enthusiastic hard-working technically proficient with ambition and drive; 
• Basic computer skills essential (Word/Excel) and good report writing skills;
• Willing and able to work towards professional qualifications such as Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with the relevant institution (e.g. IET) 
• Demonstrable interest in water projects; 
• Structure & prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole; 
• Ability to work independently without losing initiative & focus.
