Graduate Civil Engineer

Location: Falmer Brighton (Hybrid Working)

Contract: Permanent Full Time

Hours: 37 hours per week MondayFriday

Salary: 37000 per year

About the role

As a Graduate Civil Engineer you will support the delivery and improvement of water and wastewater infrastructure across our region. From day one you will be part of project teams working on real engineering challenges contributing to safe sustainable and high-quality outcomes.

This role is designed to help you build a strong technical foundation develop professional confidence and gain experience across a range of engineering activities.

You will work alongside experienced engineers and specialists with access to structured learning mentoring and development opportunities to support your progression.

What you can expect

In this role you will:

  • Support the design planning and delivery of civil engineering projects
  • Contribute to technical assessments reporting and documentation
  • Assist with site visits and surveys gaining practical real-world experience
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including operational commercial and project delivery colleagues
  • Develop an understanding of health safety and environmental standards
  • Build knowledge of engineering solutions within the water and wastewater sector

You will be encouraged to take on increasing responsibility over time supported by guidance from experienced colleagues.

About you

We welcome applications from a recent MEng/BEng graduate in Civil Engineering Environmental Science or a related discipline.

You will demonstrate:

  • A motivation to develop a career in civil engineering
  • An interest in infrastructure sustainability and environmental impact
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • A proactive approach to learning and problem-solving

Essential requirements

  • A degree (or expected degree) in Civil Engineering Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • If not already a driver youll need to be willing to learn how to drive and have access to a car as travel will be required. Where appropriate we can support you with driving lessons and your driving test as part of your development.
  • The right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • An interest in working towards professional membership (e.g. ICE CIWEM)

Working arrangements and travel

This role is based in Falmer with hybrid working options. Travel to sites across the region will be required as part of your role. Support and guidance will be provided to enable safe and effective travel.
