The successful Geography Teacher will teach students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 delivering lessons covering both physical and human Geography.

You will be expected to develop students understanding of geographical processes while encouraging them to think critically about issues affecting people and the environment. At GCSE you will prepare students for examinations through clear teaching of the specification regular assessment and focused revision where appropriate.

Fieldwork and the use of geographical skills will form an important part of the curriculum. The school is looking for a teacher who can make lessons practical and relevant using maps data case studies and current geographical examples to help students understand the subject.

You will also contribute to departmental planning and assessment working with colleagues to ensure students make consistent progress throughout KS3 and KS4.

Geography Teacher - Experience and Qualifications

• Geography Degree

• QTS or recognised teaching qualification

• Experience teaching Geography at secondary level

• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4

• GCSE Geography teaching experience

• Strong knowledge of physical and human Geography

• Confidence teaching geographical skills and fieldwork

• Strong classroom and behaviour management

• Ability to differentiate effectively
